Happy Winter Solstice
Just finished another brutal, but satisfying 4-day trip. I'm exhausted and dreaming of spring already and today it starts getting better. The days are getting longer after this minute. I don't know what pagan instincts today inspires, but it's one of the marked days on my calendar, above many others.
This is a day I celebrate quietly but strongly inside. Winter isn't coming. It's here.
That is all. Enjoying a glass of Pinot to try to unwind. Enjoy winter!

Re: Happy Winter Solstice
The wife's and my 24th Anniversary yesterday. This day will always be special. We married on St. John USVI and it was a beautiful experience with only ourselves to enjoy our decision to unite.
Back to work tomorrow as I've taken a nice 9 day break from the yob. Haven't ridden much due to the funky wet weather here. Temps are nice though.

Nor in the Dorptown and I don't have time to ride outside so I've been down cellar binging on Haute Route youtube and hitting the local routes uploaded to Bkool. Who was the genius that recorded going over Petersburg Pass on Route 2 and then up one side of Greylock and down the other? I hates you. My legs hurt and they hates you too.

That's my turf and you could ride Greylock on your road bike today if you wanted to. 56 degrees today, 64 forecast for tomorrow, only maybe 4 frosts so far. Seriously this is all wrong. We saw some sleet on our Monday night mountain bike ride but had to hump up to about 1800 feet for it. It's disturbing.
