OK so I ended a sentence with a proposition. So sue me.
I would have murdered my mother to have been at this:

My ex sent me this a few days ago. We were supposed to go but I had a French exam. They broke up a few weeks later. As I grow older and wiser I regret that more and more.

I haven't actually read it because I can't bear to. YEAH I KNOW it was 2004 but I bring this up to someone I know every few weeks.

I recently started following Yelle and Emilie Simon on facebook because I gotta get ready for PBP, right? They aren't well known here, so I'm probably not going to be able to see either one of them.

I see I probably missed the point of the question, but I really refuse to entertain notions of alternative history. And anyway, if I'd made it to all the concerts I would have liked to go to, I'd be totally deaf instead of only partially deaf

Muddy Waters played at the Col Ballroom about 6 months before he passed. It was on a Thursday, I had to work the next day and none of my friends wanted to go..I was 20ish and thought everyone would live forever so I can always see him the next time he's in town, 35 years later and I still regret missing that show.

I should be saying Zeppelin at Knebworth or Monk+Coltrane at Carnegie, but I'm a sucker for pop goddesses from the 80s:

    or maybe...

    and while we're at it...

but purely for the music, this show would have been more than my brain could handle...

I was there, a 16 year old Townie, I shit you not. I didn't imbibe, but left my clothes in the car so my Dad wouldn't smell the pot smoke. Didn't work though, got the Inquisition anyway. Totally worth it.

The obvious answer would be Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1977 at the Ballroom in ATL. Show was cancelled along with my dreams of a "sweetie" at the time.
Just this year saw "Get the Led Out" here in Newark, OH. Fan freakin tastic show that was so worth the time and money. Never saw Led or any of the famous 70's bands. Saw a zillion punk shows in ATL though. And yes did attend the first Lallapalooza in the Bay Area (Jane's content). Fishbone stole that one.

When my wife was a smitten youngster she saw the Monkees.
Opening act was some dude named Jimi Hendrix.
I sh*t you not. You can look it up.

Wish I could have seen that.
