Re: found on the ground - money, filthy lucre, mammon, cambio
I found a smart phone the other day that was in mint condition despite being on the side of a busy road. It was unlocked so I looked in the call history and called the most called number which turned out to be the owners husband. She had no idea where she lost the phone as she left it on the roof of her car which makes the survival even more amazing. Good cases are worth the $ is the lesson here. I arranged to meet up and get it back to her at which point she offered me a $20 reward; I declined and asked her to be kind to cyclists instead which she promised to do.. I figure we need all the friends we can get.

Right on - I found an unlocked Iphone two years ago and called around until I found the owner. But I kept the $20.00 dollar reward. :-)

Yesterday morning I found a Samsung smartphone on my commute to work and was able to return it to the owner by 3pm. Hooray!

The wife is usually the one to find money on the street. 100 dollar bills twice over a couple of years as well as some 20s. I once found a roll of money outside a deli three weeks before my wedding. I looked around and saw a delivery guy getting in his truck. It was his days worth of deliveries. It was quite a bit of money that would've come in handy on the honeymoon but also would've put a serious dent in the dude. Needless to say keeping it would've haunted me a bit. I do remember stumbling across porn in the woods in VT as a kid. Seems like a rite of passage back in the 70's. A fellow worker picked up a 42 or 46 inch(it was big) samsung plasma TV on the street the other day. Probably cost 4K 4 or 5 years ago.

Stopped mid interval to pick this up. I quit the intervals and spent it on an ice cold coke.

Last weekend we were back tracking for buddy who didn.t show at the top of the mountain (MTB) . We found him with a broken collar bone. On the crash site I found a $20 bill (not his). This was out nowhere. He had to hike out and I used the money to bring ice , cokes and pringles.

I wasn't too keen to lug a duplicative tool home over the hills so I left it for the next guy.
It's up on south Pinehurst in Moraga on the west side of the road if any of you all want it.
