Ghostery has improved my life considerably. It is a pretty powerful pop-up, pop-in, Google ad, cookie, etc. blocker. You can tailor it in a lot of ways, but I use it full-bore for almost everything except for about 5 websites.

You ABSOLUTELY need to install WordFence in your WordPress site. The free version is fine, it helps stop password attacks and notifies you of missing patches and more.

I use Chrome on my mac with AdBlock Plus installed.

Browser: use Safari with adblock and ghostery. Tend to end up with a large number of tabs open during some projects. Leads to slow or no load over the course of the day. For sites that don't work well I head to Opera and Firefox. HTTPS everywhere extension in use on Firefox.

Opera seems to be quick but that could be due to minimal load on it when I use it. Firefox plug-ins have been slow to return since release of Quantum.

Plugin added. Thanks much Joe. Slowly working on getting ready to build a site for local mtb org. GeneratePress, Elementor and WooCommerce are planned base plugins.

The multi-account containers extension on firefox is a must-have. It is an official firefox extension that let you create container tabs. Say you have a google account, a facebook account and a velocipedesalon account. You map each of these websites to a container so they don't share cookies/browsing history/everything. It also makes life easier when you are using different accounts on the same website/service or need to separate work and private environment.
