Default Decent Decalf Espresso: Does it exist?

I know it's heresy, but that's the question: Can coffee be decaffinated and still taste substantially good as an espresso?

Yes, but it's harder to find than regular espresso.

(I'm decaffeinated now for 2 1/2 weeks and no migraines!)

I'm willing to help you find out. Sweet Maria's sells water decaffeinated whole beans which I'd roast for you if you send me a few lbs. to work with. I'd do that because after reading the title to this thread I was going to ban you but felt bad 'cause you are talking about coffee and hey it's coffee not tubulars ;)

I *think that a good central american decaf. whole green bean roasted correctly will be quite good. Buy this: https://www.sweetmarias.com/product/...swp-decaf-5441

PM me if you want a shot...so to speak.

I found that decaf beans from the Chiapas region of Mexico made excellent espresso. One of its feats was to help 'repair' pucks made with flavorful but dry beans from other regions. Every shot came out looking good when it was in the blend.
