I remember that I was working the midnight shift at my Summer job as a millwright helper in a steel mill when the news came down that the King was gone. No big deal to me as I only knew him as fat Elvis, but to the "lifers" that I worked with, Elvis represented the ultimate cool. To a man, they all said that Elvis helped to define their youth and when you look back on the impact that he had, in terms of music and pop culture, it is impressive.
