I will absolutely eat anything, at least give it a try. But, the 2 foods I despised as a child, and now love are sweet potatoes and poke sallet.

Beets. But only one way. My Aunt Genowefa's shredded beet and horseradish salad. I'm still trying to perfect it. Practice, practice, practice...

How our tastes change is one of the interesting things in life to me. Every 5 years or so I look up and realize that there are new foods that I love that I hated as a younger person.

Mustard is one example. At 10 I was scraping it off of my burger. In my late thirties, I started with some dijon and spicier mustards. Now I will even put yellow mustard on a hotdog.

Brussels sprouts. Puke-inducing when I was a kid. Now, can't get enough, especially when grilled with some olive oil.

Ditto. Definitely. It's nice that they're becoming popular in restaurants because now I get to try them regularly when we go out to make up for all those years of missed sprouts.

Guacamole. Now I can even eat it on my Raisin Bran.

Mushrooms. Now I sacrifice hours of ride time and risk Lyme Disease to find maybe a dozen of them.

    Beta vulgaris. Still vulgar.

same here. Funny thing is my kids loved them from the first time they had them. I never really knew what the plant looked like until a neighbor's dog was running around with a brussels sprout stalk. Apparently they grow just fine here.

I also hated beets as a kid. I just hated the way they looked. Couldn't make me eat them.
