Default the last frame you will ever make, what will it be

Odd discussion topic but I wonder what's at the other end of the string, many know what their first was ,but what will be their last, will it be for themselves ,a special or just the final one in a list
I was watching a car documentary where basically the car factory closed (60s) all were hand built but there was a sentence that struck a chord, the last to roll off the line,

I wonder as there's a last of everything but nope, never seen it discussed

I'd tend to think that it would be for myself, but who knows how I'll feel by that point.

Yeah, but sometimes when the thrill of making a thing has passed, it's still kinda cool to have an example or two around.

l was going to post something similar but was afraid I'd leave some unintended message. I don't want folks to think I can't deliver or to stop placing orders, but I'm acutely aware there will be a last one, so everything I touch, complete and sell is exactly what I want to leave behind. I'm comfortable with that too. I've never been as excited to make the next one as I am now.

Depends a lot on the reasons of it being the last one...
Fed up of it? no more demand? illness? Age retirement? alien abduction?

But I'm with Steve on the most likely is the last one might not be a conscious one, but afterwards result

On the useless romantic side of conceptual things, if the last frame is a conscious decission and not because had enough of it and hate it from the soul roots, I could probably fancy trying to build, with no time restrictions, my own best ever as close to perfection as possible, and once it's done, break it into thousand pieces or even melt it, so to left all that into a personal question between the frame and myself

But, that might take too long and this last frame could be an endless process without end.

Better to go fishing or gettign lost in the woods.

-- not being a frame builder, and i am sure so much different.., but i never thought of the first/last team, owner, driver or car i sponsored &/or the paint scheme with logo layout i created -- just the present and how it echoed the previous, built on or improved..
    &
when it was over for me, it was over with many fond memories and a few not so fond too..

I've still go to finish my first as a late starter to the game and I can't envisage the end at all. I suspsect if everyone had a choice they'd build one for themselves that tilted their hat to their signature style and prefence. If it was to be where my head is at the moment it would be a clean no nonsense OS road race frame with 28.6 steerer and threaded BB.

If I knew that the next frame was to be my last one and I still could ride afterwards I'd build one last one for my self. If I, somehow, knew that I wasn't going to be able to ride then I'd build one for my survivor. Andy.

So if, by some stroke of prognostication, could predict that I only had one more frame in me (and the only reason I could think of would be from some terminal illness), I'd make it for my daughter, her "next" bike after her push bike, something that could hold some personal value to her. Something she could hang onto and pass on to future generations.
