    Default Back to the Blade

Out of town last week forgot the electric at home and had an important dinner date (daughter Shannon and her new Beau). Picked up a cheap 3 blade and a travel size shave cream and was amazed at how much smoother the face felt. I'm going to try a better razor and see if I'm ready to put away the electric for good. Some of you know I've got a port wine birthmark on the temple that I used to nick with a blade occasionally. Bleeds like a stuck hog when that happens. Not sure if a safety is in the future as much as I like the idea and Straight is out of the question. I'll try what I got and see how it works report back later but am always open to suggestions. For the record he's a nice young Man, and treats her very well.

Similar to you, I have a couple of moles that if nicked, bleed like crazy. I never liked any electric shaver and haven't even tried one in 20 years. I've had great success, (and the fewest nicks) with the original-model Gillette "Good News" razors. 7 bucks for a bag or 'em...they are normally relegated to the bottom shelf in the store, well away from the 6-blade floating-head wonder razors and their absurdly-priced replacement blades. No shaving company can let well-enough alone, so be sure not to get the floating/swivel-head version(s) of the Good News....you want the one with the fixed blade head. I am convinced based on experience that the swivel jobs aid and abet in cutting irregularities like moles n' stuff.

I'm a DE (double edge) sort of guy. Those fancy multi-blade razors give me razor burn more often than not but I use them for my legs ;) There are some fantastic shaving threads on vsalon do a search.

Yep thought about that right I hit post. Feel free to move this into the proper thread. I'll invest a little more $$ once I decide it's the right move.
