Default Looking for 0.8/0.7mm tubing scrap

All - I know similar topics have been discussed - tried to find via search but no luck.

I'm practicing tig welding. I've chopped up lots of 0.035"/0.9mm 4130 and melted them together. I haven't had any luck finding thinner material

I'd like to try my hand at some thinner material. Anyone have a bin full of butted end tube cut offs? Minimum 2-3" long would be great.

PM me if so and we can figure it out. I just moved from Laramie, WY to Portland, OR. Local would be awesome too.

    Thanks!

    Bikelugs has some stuff

Could put together a sub $50 order and make 100's of practice joints, even get some practice in on mitering shaped tubes.

I went through the available tube on the main website and most (all but two tubes) are too thick or too thin. The 28.9/0.8 seattube might be the ticket for 0.8mm stuff.

Still looking for some scrap ends though. Willing to pay shipping + some cash if anyone has anything 0.7 -0.8mm kicking around.

Why don't u go visit UBI in Portland? I'm sure they have plenty of scraps and whole tubes for purchase.

Just get some .028 wall cro-moly from AC spruce or online metals. Plenty close for practice.

I've got a decent size pile of cutoffs in my shop. Sure there is some in that range. I'm in Eugene. PM me and we can work something out.

You're in Portland? Aren't there any frame builders there? This seems to be a perfect time to connect with locals to gather some of their scraps. Here in Mpls. the builders are in contact often sharing ideas, tools, materials, etc. Networking is invaluable.
