    Default campagnolo track hub axles

    hi all

i've got a pair of c-record small flange / mavic argent 10 (24 spoke 2x pattern) wheels that i'd like to use for my upcoming project

i have RE1410N with the stainless plates from ceeway, other than llewellyn, who makes a similar front dropout, with the braze on stainless faces ?

with the rear dropouts, and i think i'll have the same problem with the fronts, is that they're a little thick for the campag hub axles

i know you can get a wheels mfg rear axle, but does anyone know of any front axles being made ?

if not, i'd think about having some made if there is an interest

i was told a few years ago by an engineer friend that the thread form is whitworth (55 degree), can anyone confirm or deny this ?

Am I reading this correctly - you're want to reverse engineer the hub axles on a track wheel to fit in road dropouts?

Campag Axles are 26tpi, as opposed to virtually (correct if I'm wrong) all the others out there which are 24tpi.

Have you checked the dropouts? Maybe all they need is some carefully filing.

Threads for those hubs are: 8x26 front and 10x26 rear. I'm not clear what you are trying to accomplish...definitely not whitworth.

I would suggest getting the correct dropouts for the hubs/use, or finding another wheel atmo.

If I'm following along, you are just looking to run longer axles because the track ends you are interested in are thicker then yours allow. Swapping axles is an option, but it sounds like the frame is unbuilt. If that's the case, you can always run narrower track ends. The RE1410N are nice (I use them myself), but with SS faces sandwiched on, it's very thick.

eric is correct, sorry for the confusion

taking fork dropouts and adding stainless faces to them is going to make the dropouts a little on the chunky side of things thickness wise

what i want is a 9x26 track axle that's maybe 10mm longer in length

the rears aren't such of a problem because axles are already manufactured,

yeah the frame isn't built yet, if i'm going to the trouble of stainless plates on the rears, it'd be a shame not to follow suit on the front too

Or you could use an all stainless fork tip.

    You should avoid them atmo.
