We were just finishing up the morning dog walk when the rain started. I hustled into the lanai area as I knew that we would be getting some color. Saw the sky fill in from blue to this in the span of about 90 seconds.

What it means is that it was raining and that the sun was at a low angle in the sky. Evening rainbows are seen from the driveway and will have a different hill in the background.

Yes, tin roof (galvanized steel to be accurate). Neighbors have their carport enclosed and they use it as an extended living area with tv and furniture, etc. Outside and in the shade is often times more comfortable than in the house - attics trap hot air.
