Default MS crown???? As in Columbus MS tubing ....

    Good day ladies and gents,
    long winded question here :

I have a few Columbus MS ( multi-shape ) tubesets here, and here is the query, They have special profiled fork blades, but I have yet to encounter a crown. The blades look "normal " in the front, but have a lemon nipple at the back. Kinda. I would link a pic but my computer skills are lacking.
Its not Imperial. Its not modern standard. Could it be that these blades were in the boxes incorrectly? Are they actually AIR blades?
After 20 years doing this, I am having an issue with myself for not knowing the answer to this.

I've been looking around a bit on the net (having no direct experience) and could only find one reference to MS coming with fork blades, and nothing about them being a certain shape, or requiring any special fork crown. I'd bet you have Air blades or something that somebody stuck in the box at some point. Nor would I sweat having the "wrong" fork for an MS bike.

edit: also, whatever you're doing with MS sounds sick. need photos!

    Steve,
nope. Not at all. These are just slightly different fro m " normal" blades.
I think that zetroc is right, and that is the only real conclusion I have at this point.
Like I said, after twenty years of doing weird stuff, I thought I would know this one.... oh well....here is a pic. I know the pic is horrible, but, whatever.
    thanks all,
    erik

In the pic, its the one on the left. crazy.

dont quote me on it, but I think they might be 3rensho aero fork blades, if so nova sells the crown for them still.

99% sure those san ren sho blades are the same profile as the Keisei blades, much more like a teardrop shape with a rounded front and a tapered back

Those look like the MS blades that I dimly recall from back in the day. I dont recall a specific fork crown and suspect that, out here in NZ, builders used to stuff them somehow into normal Continental oval fork crowns.

Yeah they aint gonna fit in the Ren crown....
It has been really weird thing to track down. The old guys I know didn't really know, and even Peter from Ceeway said he does not remember a MS fork crown. So, maybe it was just a run of special blades or something. Thanks yall, if I ever get the REAL answer I will post it up here.
    thanks,

HA! Ive never done that before...
Even the guys at CEEWAY didn't know what they are.
I'm gonna call this one done and just live with it being a smaller mystery than it was a few weeks ago.
    thank you all.
