Weird Request -- I need a doctor

I'm in Northern Virginia and I need a new family doctor. This might sound like a get your grump on complaint, but I've reached my limit.

I need a doctor who prescribes exercise & weight loss over meds -- a doctor who isn't always eager to prescribe "a pill for that."

I want that doctor to understand a 40-plus year old patient who has been riding a bike for 25-plus years -- a doctor who understands why my EKG is all jacked up and why my heart-rate is so low.

And, when I get a sinus infection, I want a doctor who's not afraid to load me up with antibiotics, prednisone, and narcotics -- a doctor who takes off the kid-gloves and doesn't
keep me sick for weeks and weeks through a series of z-pack prescriptions.

Anyone?

Good luck, I mean it. They exist, but don't expect an HMO or standard health insurance to be any help. We all know where the money comes from. If you find one please share, maybe I'll move. I loved the little riding I did in No. Virginia.

Kind of contradictory. Antibiotics and steroids have no effect on sinusitis, so he is actually doing you a favor.

if you're still on the bike post 40, are vertical, and eat food made of food-- you're not in need of a doctor, you should probably BE one. I don't know any such doctor personally-- but my moms has one who always seems to be open to not prescribing her tons of meds, but going a way more natural route (a'la supplements of stuff your body actually needs), that includes exersize and weight loss- and she's doing pretty damn well for a 70 year old. I'll get back to you Sunday.
