A friend sent this. No idea where it is or who it is, except that the caption says "4th grade girl goes off ski jump for first time."
OK, maybe not the best sports video ever, but she rocks.

LOVE IT! Can't believe she (though it sounds like a boy) got no props at the bottom...none. Well, I was stoked for her.

That is awesome. And I'm not surprised that the other kids gave her no props. Grade school is tough love.

i remember years ago standing on the edge of a 10m diving platform looking down. The water seemed to be to be about a mile away.
I guess I'm a wuss - I couldn't do it.
I think she's braver than I am.
Reminds me of the time we went to visit my cousins.
When we arrived all my cousins were lined-up and jumping off the wall that separated
their lawn from the lawn of the church next door. There wasn't a fence, railing, or any
safety device. Anyone could just walk off that wall in the middle of the night. My sister
and I got in line and we took turns jumping from one lawn to the other. After a few
jumps I chickened-out and my cousin behind me shouted, "Go!" and gave me a shove.
I closed my eyes, put my fingers in my ears because of the roar of the air rushing past.
I hit the church lawn like a ton of bricks.
About thirty years later my wife and I were driving past that old house. The wall was
about two feet high... of course, so was I.
