Even if I could get over the pseudoscience, there's just no way I can read anything written in Papyrus.

The book is ful of stuff that annoys me but there was a great study on Cortisol levels that was fantastic and compelling.

TT - Mrs. Haole knows a bit about cortisol related stuff. Pick her brain if you want to discuss.

Thanks. This is a huge factor why I like to ride my bicycle...in combination with aspirin and my weekly beer.

The graphs look more impressive in the earthing book.

Did I miss some mention of a double blind study or control group?

The control group was self selected with a pre-existing condition. Just sayin'.

negative, you did not miss that because like all good alternative medicine this is about the worst most pointless study i've ever read. no control, this internal "crossover" of before->after reeks of placebo effect, and that's even a stretch because there's virtually no effect in the aggregate data as i see it

    nonsense

that said, i bet if you take a week off of work and run around barefoot playing ultimate frisbee with your friends and working in the garden your cortisol levels will drop. look at me, i'm a fucking genius.

Easy now. These days I'm more liable to recognize that these studies and claims are what you say while taking account there is more value than many are willing to ascribe as long as there is no harm done. It is a field of dreams proposition, if you will. Create a safe method where folks can more closely approximate "health",whatever-the-he!!-that-is and allow that there is no harm in them doing so...so what's the harm? Nada.

I went and sat in the park this afternoon without my shoes and socks on for 30 minutes. Certainly did me no harm.
