boston sports fan. little to cheer since the stanley cup
its been several weeks since bringing home the stanley cup and the red sox are in first place at the all star break..
but, seriously, the patriots havent won it all since 06 and the celtics really since 08...
we need a little more action up here...
world series? against the giants?
would be too cool...

please dont mention the giants and championships in the same sentence, it still hurts.

It will be another 60 or so years before the giants get back. The sox have some issues with NL teams not named the Astros for some reason. Dont even get me started on Lackey. He makes Mike Torrez look like Cy Young.

Now Beckett's knee hurts? Wonderful. When's Crawford coming back?

Re: boston sports fan. little to cheer since the stanley cup
Crawford will be back after the weekend during the Baltimore series. Sounds like the Beckett thing is more out of caution and wanting some rest than something serious. Just as well that he didnt play in the ASG.

Giants - home team, they're good. Heart Attack Kids flamed on last year (rode that bandwagon). Got there, peaked. Law of averages says they go down in flames. There are only so many Ws in that style.

Losing Buster Posey pretty much screwed the season for the Giants.

Buster getting taken out caused a big shitstorm here: Matheny said the runner was wrong, Bench said it was improper positioning. I sided with wrong fundamentals 'til Bench came out.
Funny how the popular tide shifted because people don't know the game. Same in any sport, rly.

PS Victory parades feel good for about 61% but then the punks do their thing, i.e. Vancouver.
A lot of season ticket holders watched it on tv,
like a qualified joy.

What about a proper Boston sports topic, i.e. the suckitude of JD Drew? For someone who is reputed to be such a great natural hitter, sweet swing, etc., he certainly seem to not have much going on at the plate. Good defender, though, very smooth fielder.

One of these days the theoretical physicists are going to announce that he has 2200 home runs in the nineteenth dimension.
