    Default Hey, Massholes

There are a hell of a lot of people from a pretty concentrated area that are attending NAHBS.
Right now, I'm not one of them because it's no secret that I'm fucking broke and need to spend all my dough to get bikes out the door.

I'm really good at driving long distances in trucks full of nice stuff though. Real good.
I'd love to convince some folks to split up the cost of a Penske so that I can schlep all our crap to Austin via underground railroad.
I'm just trying to pay for the truck and the gas so it ain't gonna be much money if we fill it. It'd be a damn fun roadtrip too. Ain't never been through "leazy-anna".

    Thoughts?

The "business office" is going to figure out pricing when she gets home from work. With good crating a whole lot of stuff will fit in one truck.

I'm still a Mass-hole for a few more months, and listening as well.

Also planning on going to spectate, etc. Interested- I'll hit up Geekhouse/Icarus/RoyalH/Quiros to see if they are heading that way. Figure there's something like 2 dozen MA folk going?

I plan on driving out. We have space remaining, but I'd also consider a group trip

Mickey, et al -- we've been strategizing similar. We're going down to exhibit so we've got bikes and show booth. MA missed the opportunity to do like Minnisoda and get a whole block of adjacent booths, but we still have the chance to group together on schlepping. I say we get a C5A from Westover.

The operating costs on the C5's are a bit high though...
I haven't had a chance to run the numbers yet, but I should be able to wack the quotes out during the business day tomorrow.
There is a Penske place in Medford about 2 miles away from I.F. so I'll quote a few trucks from there and break out the slide-rule to forecast Diesel.

I've got my passenger bus too, but that thing has f-all for room for tradeshow gear. It does have groovy lighting though.

i say we all get a porn director and do a 60 minute piece that airs on public access at 4am every tuesday.
that's when the heavy spenders are getting home from foxwoods.

I'd be down too. I'll have less coming home than going out. I'll be shipping three customer bikes directly from Austin to their respective end destinations. Keep me posted.

Keep me in the loop too please. I'm joining the wooden-crate-turns-into-your-display-to-avoid-annoying-per-pound-storage-fee-during-show crowd.

Couldn't we store boxes and crates in the Penske truck?

Good point. Wasn't an option shipping the stuff down, but this new plan could change things...

I've done the MA-Interbike drive a few times with various cats. If you can bolt your crate back together or compact it well enough leaving it in the truck will work just fine.

The drive to TX should be fun. I usually do the Vegas drive straight through using the Missippi and the Rockies as places to nap. That's pretty epic, brah, but it will be pretty awesome not having to drive through the great plains. Little warmer that time of the year down south...

    I've given it some thought...
I've got one or two customers down there, I think you guys do two. Someone has already offered me a place to stay and I bet someone else might have a place for the van.
I know a few guys at BMX distribuitors down there and worse comes to worse we can stash a van there. I doubt anyone is leaving anything of value in it truck, so it's not a big worry to me.

    Vsalon is fucking awesome.
