So, my kids wanted to learn to surf. I looked at the prices for surf camp for a week.... $600 per kid. I opp'ed to buy a wetsuit and a 9ft soft top and learn it myself to teach them. Of course the guy who promised to show me never did. So, I been hitting up all my surfer friends to show me the ropes. Today at 9:32 am I got a text, "wanna surf?" "hell ya". My friend pulls up in a Telsa S and a fresh coffee. I load the board into the car and we drove off over the ridge of Mt Tam to Stinson beach.
I was in heaven. Stinson beach is at the foot of Mt Tam. It was an overcast day and fog was covering the top of Tam making a beautiful back drop. Waves were 2-3 footers. I just enjoyed being out there. I did get up once on a breaking wave and held it for about 3 seconds. Regardless it was the best. A seal came near us to inspect us. We were to only surfers out there. College kids were showing up to lay out and lounge after finals as we left. I saw Boots2000 riding his bike. Experinced "insanity mode" in the Telsa. Picked up my daughter from school on the bike where we rode to her lacrosse practice. Life is fine.
