This friday, I am a grump. A deeply apprehensive, deeply disappointed grump.

Well said. The sky hasn’t fallen, let’s see what happens next. I’m keeping a positive attitude in a sea of negativity.

Son's exchanged Christmas gift arrived. Quiet house and the dog isn't howling, so I must not be too bad. Beautiful sound for $60.

I rode in shorts today. I had a long sleeve jersey that I regretted. I cleaned the Gunnar tonight and I'm continuously amazed at the durability of really good handbuilt wheels. Joe Young is the man closely followed by Terry Wittenberg (RT).

11 months of hell. 5 years of being drug around, 2 relocations, including career changes, going to bed not knowing if we'd wake up the next morning to an email saying "i'm moving"...5 years of being on a fucking leash, our lives being at the mercy of someone else....finally over. In Feb 2016, we filed for modifications to the divorce decree that gave wifey's ex 100% control. In November, our lives were again turned upside down when I went to pick up the oldest and was informed at that moment, by the youngest, that they had moved.

At 12:02am this morning, our lawyers reached an agreement. While we are losing half of child support, the boys won't be changing schools for a 4th time in 5yrs. Our new house will be a mile from the schools, 5 miles from work, we are no longer obligated to give the boys over every other Sunday so that they can go to church with their dad (hard to plan weekends when we have to ask his permission first), medications will be administered per drs instructions, tutoring costs will be split. And we'll be able to claim one of the boys on our taxes. So huge to have this done.

Finishing prep this weekend and then we can transfer 10 gallons of paint from cans to walls and ceilings downstairs.

Last night, my wife and I were talking about the tax return and a coming day-job bonus. She mentioned that I might want to use the work bonus to buy the eTAP shift kit... That's another month away, but it just changed the direction of the frame I was building for myself.

Our company just changed management of our 401k. Some new funds are now available to us.

This qualifies as exciting news when you're as boring as me.

It's been Friday for almost 90 minutes here. I'm working my last night of backshift and there's only 5 hours left. All downhill from here.

Been a while for me... Interview scheduled for Monday with an animation studio that's only 3 miles from my house. Gots to curb my enthusiasm and knock this one out of the park. Such an exciting opportunity -- both with the position -- and the joy of saving ~8hrs/week commute time from my previous 20 years.

    Trails are dry, too.

A little early, but I am now on vacation and will be riding my bike as much as possible until February 21st.

I'm off tomorrow so my Friday started around 4pm today. Tomorrow I have a day of festivities planned starting with a haircut, oil change, a bag of fertilizer at Home Depot, and finally a first ride on the BLE with it's new Chorus 11 group. The 4 arm crankset should make me .002% faster.

Week after next is a four-day workweek. Monday holidays are the gift that keeps giving.
They extend the weekend and shorten the workweek WAY better than Friday holidays. :-)

The last week's work schedule has been:

    Saturday and Sunday weekend.
    Snow day on Monday.
Tuesday and Wednesday normal work days.
    Thursday off.
    Back to work today.

    Three day weekend coming.

I could get used to this.

It has always struck me as funny and I still get a chuckle out of it. :-)
