oh crap, the Suicide Machines. I forgot about them. I think I might have a mix tape with theirs.

BTW, I really like the later Fugazi stuff now. The Argument might be the best album I have ever heard. Whats funny, I really did not like the album when I first started this thread. It was just so...off. But now I really think its a masterpeice.

I think I am picking up the entire discography and one day while doing an long study session just go from Side A - Fugazi to Side B the Argument.

End Hits is in the mail right now.

I never got into the Misfits. I am kinda curious as to what the deal was.

Thanks for keepin this thread alive fellas.
we are about to break the surly bonds of gravity and punch the face of God!

I met you and your dogs in Verona at nats and, unfortunately, did not know it was you. You, sir, are an imposing character. You'd make a good bouncer.

I have not followed this thread until just recently, but in case in means anything to anyone, I'll offer a small anecdote.

I'm walking the dog one night a couple of weeks ago, and I come upon a pair of pruning shears laying in the sidewalk. I pick them up, give them a look, and with their leather retaining loop and all, realize these are pretty nice shears. I'd seen a gardener working on the property adjacent this spot earlier in the evening, so I set out to find him. He comes 'round the corner, I hand him the shears, we get to talking, and somehow end up on the topic of the DC punk scene, of which I only possess a glimmer of a hint of knowledge. He mentions he was around in the late 70's/early 80's, was a frontman for some band - Body Count - and that he's since moved on to greener (get it?) pastures. Of course I Googled it and found some stuff on the 'tube.

I shared this encounter with a neighbor who I knew would appreciate it. He mentioned that a lot of the OG are still around town, and that MacKaye hangs at a spot down the street. Pretty cool.

Hows about Pegboy? When the 1980's punk thread is started I'll carpet bomb it with Naked Raygun.

Maybe we should start an 80s punk thread.

I believe I was 10 years old when I got my mom to mail a letter I wrote to Fugazi asking why I can't find their tapes in tape stores. Guy sent be back a cool postcard with a note written on it and a Dischord catalog. I think I ended up ordefying more Fugazi and Dag Nasty that way. Cool guys and what a great label Dischord is. Still working my way through all the Lungfish stuff.

If you were in Boston and ever went to the rat, it was these guys and the Ducky Boys. Another band also used to play that got big and now likes to hang out with db baseball players that play for a team that right now blows, but I digress.
