That's the issue, we currently need to worry about both mechanical and cosmetic damage so maybe CPO is the way to go. Since we keep cars at least 9 years (or an average of 10 each for the last 2 Outbacks) I have been of the mindset that depreciation really does not matter at that point.

It is not just our car that is being damaged so the building hired a new garage manager. He already installed speed bumps to slow down the valets who park the cars and cameras to figure out who is causing the damage. I am sure it is difficult to get employees to care when you are only paying them minimum wage to park cars.

As long as the vehicle mechanicals are sound, you do not have to sweat the cosmetics part of the equation quite so much.
