Watched SOTU last night. If you support Trump you probably thought it was a great speech. Me I thought Trump was as divisive and confrontational as ever. Just thinking about how the history books never paint a leader who rules over a divided nation favorably or governs by being a demagogue. His big achievement other than conservative judges is the economy but Trump didnt' campaign about the economy in general but about reversing the decline in our manufacturing base. I did some quick research and I see that manufacturing as a percent of GDP is at its lowest ratio in over seventy years despite his desire to reverse that. -Mike G

He actually did campaign about the economy. He promised GDP growth of 5-6%. We've gotten ~2% (the same rate as under Obama) despite large tax cuts that have swollen the deficit.

Trump campaigned most and foremost about manufacturing. He was never the champion of our service economy which is the envy of the world. He wanted the U.S. to revive its steel manufacturing. So far a big fail and not likely to reverse
