I don't buy some of the fake environmental benefits about e-cars but my current relation with tesla owners on the road is quite good for cars that have some kind of ludicrous mode. I don't know about the demographic picture and how it relates to the worldwide market but every single one of those I saw driven in Switzerland was going within the speed limit and driven with due care to the other cars/motorbike/cyclists around them. Something which cannot be said of most cars than can do less than 5s to reach 60mph (think audi Sx, Mercedes AMG, BMW Mx).
The only teslas I've seen driven aggressively were on some kind of youtube vids. I'm pretty sure this is amazing but you grow tired of it quite quickly compared to riding normally and silently and enjoy the music on the stereo.

This is a worthwhile browse :: Lightning Lap Results 26 to 218: Every Car, Every Lap Time
Here's a slideshow of the fastest 25 w/prices :: Bolts of Lightning: The 25 Quickest Cars in Lightning Lap History
The Corvette is a bad motherf***er. Nothing can touch the performance :: dollar ratio. All the other cars in the top 5 are at least twice the price.
And used prices make them an even better deal, so many owners trade in their 'old' one as soon as the new one comes out.

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?
Understood Dustin. I just want to make the point that all these cars need to go around a corner. I heard it said that allmost all tin top cars which are setup for track go around a corner at nearly the same speed. Between corners is a different story. Practically speaking, there are some amazing cars out there for not alot of cheddah.

It would be awesome if they had a spreadsheet showing average cornering speed for some of the corners on the course, and top speed on the long straights. You could really nerd out over that data.
Some interesting info on the fastest two cars in the Lightening Lap history::
#1 - 911 GT2 RS Weissach - $332k - 700hp - 3,362lbs - top speed in test (watch the video) 164mph
#2 - Corvette ZR1 - $141k - 755hp - 3,669lbs - top speed in test (watch video) 163mph
Both hit their top speed at the very beginning of the lap, after crossing the start line at the end of the longest/fastest 'straight'.
From the article on the 911 ::
If you want a good LOL, watch the video of the Accord, then one of the really fast cars. 218 Honda Accord Sport 2.T Manual at Lightning Lap 218Despite the new tires, the Porsche lacks the outright grip of the ZR1, pulling 1.16 g’s in Horse Shoe to the Vette’s 1.21. We suspect this is less a reflection on the Cup 2 R than it is a function of the weight balance of this rear-engined machine, because the RS gets out of corners as if it stole the curbing and the apex police are chasing it.

Are you seeing a single Chevy Malibu? Only one Honda CRV? A lone Toyota Avalon? A solitary Ford Focus? And are you seeing this same small, whole number of each of these models on Monday, on Tuesday, on Wednesday, on Thursday, on Friday, on Saturday? And on Sunday? And again for every day of each week that follows?
If so, I suggest you follow my example.
And, yeah, it happened again yesterday. One Tesla Model 3, right off Main Street in Waltham.
GO!
ATS-V with the proper number of pedals - going to be a temp fleet car for an incoming VIP.
Sooo good in many ways (magneride and current Caddy ride/handling is killing it), but 464 horsepower could not be more boring. This makes none of the right sounds.
Hilarious feature: the shift paddles remain behind the steering wheel (from the AT model) but in this car all they seem to do is toggle the auto-rev match feature on and off.
RM all that Caddy needs are electric cutout sidepipes. Just sayin'
Check this out >> Auto-Blip Home I think it's a cheater device for folks who can't learn to heel toe.

I think the 370Z had such an autoblip as standard.

That's the funny thing - this car is SOOO easy to heel and toe out of the box - it doesn't rev hang excessively like so many of the other new M/T cars - so matching revs is a breeze.
It's also hard to get out of the habit of sliding your foot over to the right side of the brake pedal to blip the throttle - and again on this car that is also set up almost perfectly.
I appreciate the merit behind these features - trying to rev match accurately in some of these newer rev hang cars is difficult and completely unnatural - but it also goes against all the years I spent learning how to do it on my own. I feel the same way about the hill holder features. I actually stalled or jerked my Crosstrek a few times on inclines because I was off the brake and on the gas trying to move forward before the hill holder disengaged. Now it's off.
We are creating manual transmissions for dummies.

i tuned my gt500 down from about 625hp at the wheels down to about 525hp put in the watts link (finally!) and the thing is much faster on real roads and on the track.
the torque and horsepower curve on this thing is like a fucking table- but i think i'm at the limit of the chassis dynamics and the weight of this thing now for road course work.
time to trade it in or pull its engine and put it in a basket case pantera?
my aprilia does 0-60 in under three seconds and i have put more miles on the bike since NAMBLA than i have on the mustang- it's just more fun.
