Well.. Iīve been thru weird, bad times. A simple gall bladder operation went wrong and turned into 5 procedures to save me from a highly resistant hospital bacteria. Klebziella Pneumonia.
I was in absurd pain a week after gall bladder extraction. Finding transportation to the hospital at New yearīs eve was part of the nightmare.
I went thru 2 procedures and just when everything was supposed to be ok i was taken to ICU w/ pressure dropped to 6.5x3 . I was in sceptic shock. I was kept half awake while a surgeon/radiologist searched/sucked a bacterial colony from my abdomen. He told me right before the procedure he knew me from the cycling circles.. He was a roadie. To relieve the tension i kept talking about bikes ... about JP Weigle bikes to be precise, half awake druing the operation. Since i came from the ICU it was too risky to shut me down. That was the first of the three procedures he did on me.
Iīve been just released after 2 mo of antibiotics, half of the time on hospital bed. The other half w/ home care. Some heavy , hard antibiotics directly on the veins. Lost a lot of weight and most of my muscle mass. I look bad. The Hospital physios managed to sprain a leg muscle. Not to mention the whole thing screwed up my job.
It will be a long recovery but today i inflated the bike tires. Donīt tell the doc but i will try to ride a couple meters.
