I have a 2015 TRD double cab short bed 4x4 being held for me. Dealers can't keep these on the lots around here. I was looking at 6 trucks. 5 sold in 2 days. The northwest is getting some decent discounts, but Gulf States..... Nope.

But yeah, not overly impressed with the 2016.

For the only opinion that matters on which pick up is best please search Amiri King chevy parody on You Tube. You will be offended, you've been warned.

    update?

there's a "Tacoma or F150" thread on another (Tacoma) forum that's got a ridiculous about of banter and lots of support for F150s.

Man, I would have thought things would have slowed down by now. Still crazy at work, *and* we decided to move to a bigger house and closer to my daughter's school. So the truck thing is becoming an afterthought now. I'm hoping we will get the new house purchased in a month or so, and a new truck before the end of the year. That's the best time to buy anyway, right???

How are you liking the Tacoma. I'll be honest and say I have envy every time one passes me on the road. I think the new ones look good as well.

    I love it.

I am envious of the space available in F150s, though. As well as how the 2nd row seat-bottoms fold up exposing a flat surface. Also envious of the gas mileage they get compared to my Tacoma. BUT, I do love that Tacomas are more compact and can fit in my garage. Also feel a lot smaller on the road. And have shallow seats.

We'll see what happens in a year. Lack of dual-zone climate control is really the only thing that bugs me. In the 2016 Tacomas, it's only part of a $3600 option package that includes a lot of "stuff". Hopefully that changes in 2017, at which point I'd likely trade this one in for a 2017.

...and we've had 2 other audits since my last post.

Manual overdrive? Does it have a manual transmission?

I am real close to trading my Silverado so am paying attention.

If I recall it was the 5.3 liter and I'm surprised on how little we have to re-fill it compared to the old truck.

I don't have real figures but Flagstaff to Cortez, CO was $40 at $2.78 a gallon if you want to figure it.

We got it to replace our old Desert Rig for going to Baja off road and such.

    8' bed & a winch too

The 6-speed manual overdrive and 4x4 are a real treat after our old truck and our pinche lemon Forester

Thanks, I'll admit hearing good things about the Ferd. Just not sure I can stand your gloating if I get one ;)

FWIIW GMC is giving huge markdowns on 2015's. That does not hurt.

Not just GMC I have a 2015 Crew Cab that is 13,000$$ off. there are a couple rebates that one needs to qualify for, it has the 4.3 V6, nicely equipped 2LT heated seats, center console, good looking truck. Make sure you read the fine print on offers, most aren't as simple as the newspaper shows ;>.

I'm in the market as well. Curious was you found underwhelming about the '16?
They fly off the lots in CO as well. Very few deals to be had in Tacomas of any vintage.

Driven the tacoma diesel in europe a bit - coming this fall to US.
I will compare it to the Colorado Diesel. It has been too long to finally sell these in the US.

It wasn't as big of a change as I was expecting, the interior felt a little cheap (for the $$ you pay), gas mileage wasn't significantly improved (if at all), the ability to even find something kinda sucked, and dealers were not working at all. Lots of reasons to get a 2015, and very few to upgrade to a 2016.

I ended up trading my 2015 for a 4Runner Trail. No regrets at all. The 4Runner is a legitimate step up in fit and finish.

Does anyone make an actual pickup truck any longer or are they all SUV's with a grocery cart attached to the rear?

The lower end of the pickup truck market. Those are as they ever were. Garro's chevy is a good example. All business.
