Gasflux 69T and Oxy Propane
Any one use the in-line Gasflux with propane fuel? I have no first hand experience with an inilne fluxer but it seems pretty widely used so I'm thinking the results it provides are real. Any first hand feedback appreciated!
I'd be ordering from Hank.

I'm interested in this as well. I have no idea how the inline works and it's pros and cons.

Liquid Gasflux
Liquid Gasflux® is recommended for both manual and automatic brazing applications and works with
all fuel gases.

I run my fluxer set up on a "Y" splitter to run either Acetylene or Propane (or more specifically in my case Chemtane). Works just fine with either fuel.
As an aside when re-building my unit I found the Gasflux people to be very knowledgeable and helpful in answering all my questions regarding the inline fluxer.

Just to finish off this thread - thanks Alistair and Nick for the contributions. I had also reached out to HJ:

Hi Tim,
Thanks for your email.
Since most of the builders we work with are using Oxy-Acetalyne set ups with the Gasfluxer, I wanted to double check with the guys at the Gasflux Company. Based upon the response below, it looks like you are good to go.
If you have other questions, please let me know.

The Model 69 Gasfluxer (with Teflon coating) would be the best choice for single torch use of propane.
Several industries that we deal with are pulling away from acetylene where they can, this is based
mostly on pricing and availability. They are mostly moving to propylene, propane and natural gas. Any
of these are fine for brazing with The Gasflux Process.
My favorite gas is Propylene, it is a readily available, clean and affordable fuel gas option. Any questions
let me know.

Hi folks
I'm using an oxy propane set up and the gasflux website mentions for the model 69T that gas is 'All Types'. I'm interpreting propane is ok. Do you guys have experience or know of builders with propane fuel using the 69T?
Just looking for a little first hand feedback before pulling the trigger.

Has anyone found the switch to the Gasflux system worth the investment? Considerable time saver? How about using silver or nickel? I'm guessing you still need to use specific flux for those.

I've been using one on everything since day one.

but its not a "switch" or instead of but rather in addition too.

Re: Gasflux 69T and Oxy Propane
I've done a boatload of gasflux only brazing before Winter. It worked with the heavier materials we had and the necessities of the production situation we were in. For what I'm doing now, it's not something I would use in isolation. As Nick mentions, I use it as a secondary system to compliment my use (and procedures) with paste flux.
If you dig through the archives you'll be able to see a fair bit of discussion on the general use of in-line fluxers.

funny i had typed out a longer version based on past lives in the same production shop but backed over it. it does work amazingly well solo on heavier wall 4130. and fairly dirty tubing at that if i recall.

My wall mounted frame hanger is made from pieces of tubing brazed to a bit of threaded black pipe. Worked like a champ for that. I've brazed through galvanizing, too (don't recommend that).

I've been surprised a couple of times. Play safe, kids.

Re: Gasflux 69T and Oxy Propane
I have just purchased a Model 69T with the intention of using Propane very shortly. Im an amateur (home) builder so not very experienced but i'll report back on how I get on.
I learnt brazing at the Bicycle Academy in the UK and I understand they have gotten good results from using propane as oppose to Acetylene. According to the BA Propane does work with a gasfluxer although doesn't pick up the flux as well as Acetylene so a thin wash of flux paste is essential.
