That's going to be chapping his ass in a couple days.
GO!
Houston will you let him keep it as a souvenir?
Sorry Houston, I chuckled.
My precious soft little baby feet can't find a pair of cycling shoes that work-- I need to go to a damn podiatrist, and maybe sell my brand new road shoes to get something wider.
At a department meeting for the OB/GYN department in the hospital I work at, the director stated that due to the high rate of back injuries and shoulder injuries the nurses are sustaining, the doctors will now have to move the patients off the OR table after a cesarean section. So, instead of a team effort of anesthesiologist, OB/Gyn and the nurses, it will be the doctors only? WTF?
That's perfect. The message is that they could give a flying eff about my back since I'm not on their disability program and cannot get work comp as an independent contractor.
I've helped with the process of moving patients for year every one of my patients off the OR table since I started my anesthesia training as a young resident. Now, I want to stand back and say "I don't have work comp, so I'm not risking my back" Heck, let's just sit here until the spinal wears off in two hours and she can move herself of the table.
I literally want to scream.

People who can't show up for work on time make me grumpy. This is what you signed up for. You've got one chance to make a good first impression and that is a failure so far.
To kick off an otherwise wonderful day...
Had an awesome weekend of riding (Lucky Deuce Gravel Crusher), but very low attendance. Reflecting on how to make it more appealing to others, etc. First time event, I didn't expect tons of people to show, but come on... Free beer? I've still got a full case.
Anyway, I'm still shaking off the last of the soreness from the riding. Left calf has a perma-charlie, and my right hip flexor set up a back spasm yesterday that's still got me getting up and sitting down very carefully. I may ride today. It might be the only time it feels really good.
And I just signed up for a kermesse next week. In a what-the-heck-am-I-doing moment of bravado... I haven't done any kind of real "racing" since 2006, when I dropped into the Tuesday Night Worlds on a whim... and got soundly spanked. I mean really, I'm okay with being an ex-racer. Oh well.

People, who always seem to be women, that post those pics of themselves lounging beach/poolside of their legs and feet - and they have ugly feet!!!
you're not the lord of the flies
May be some big changes in the next few months. Good stuff, but a lot of work required too.

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?
Infants. Colic. Infants with colic.
Careful walking past a dad with a baby strapped to his chest. He might really want to cold cock a stranger to let go of some frustration.

today is my 1yr + 1 day at this job. WTF am I still doing here?

The movers are here.
Okay, I'll chime in with what champs my ass. Go to the restroom, and then wash hands. Turn to dry my hands and all they have are those pitiful little blowers. No hand towels. Not even a dispenser. The door opens inward. You have to pull the handle to open the door. You know most of the people who come in here never wash their hands, even after taking a dump.
At least make the door swing outward to leave.
Good cyclists are:
Visible, Predictable, Alert, Assertive and Courteous
They also use the five layers of protection available.
Layer 1: Control your bike
Layer 2: Know and follow the rules of the road
Layer 3: Ride in the smartest lane position
Layer 4: Manage hazards skillfully
Layer 5: Utilize passive protection.
