The intestinal bug that came to visit starting at 2:30am Monday morning that is still hanging around is getting tiresome. This is like extra days of colonoscopy prep.

1. Clickbait - The entire internet has become clickbait. Also: If the Government decided to institute editors and fact checkers for the internet, I can't say for sure that I'd mind.
2. I'm glad you took a writing class at adult-ed, and yer best friend encouraged you to start a blog/whatever - that doesn't make you a writer just yet sunshine.
you're not the lord of the flies
was interviewed for a sales engineering position today...money will probably be good...i can work from home...I'm just not sure if it gives me any more stability than what I have now. I'm spoiled for choice at a really complicated time in my life...exactly what I need.

Well the pnd moved right up my right eustachian tube into my inner ear (just like always). At the doc first thing last Friday and again first thing Monday. Spent Monday working with a tissue in one hand to dab at the stuff running out of my right ear. Marginally better a week later but nice ringing in right ear and full feeling and limited hearing still.

Sorry to do this on Xmas but....
Why can UPS get something from the UK to the USA in two days (using 3 day service) but USPS can't get something from Salt Lake to NJ in less than 1 week (using Priority Mail 2-3 day service) both around holiday time. Still waiting on the USPS package.
WTF?
Getting another cold 10 days after the last one started to subside. Either that or the last one never went away.
Oh yeah, almost forgot this was Thursday. Huck went back for a double-scoop cone because he figured out how to crush the first single one to chew his bandages off.

So many things that are screwed right now. But let's just keep it simple... A few are:
-wont be having "christmas" until the 27th at the earliest
-good friend's dad died suddenly two nights ago (55ish), funeral tomorrow, goin back for shiva on monday
-aunt has stage 2 lung cancer, first round a chemo a few days ago (her husband died suddenly 3 yrs ago, her and her daughter never really recovered from that)
-best friend is being an antisocial dick since he started dating a new girl
-my birthday in a couple days is being replaced by a christmas party with far too many relatives coming to our small house
-im running on financial fumes until my next pay check in 2 wkks
i just want to crawl into a hole for a while
Chinese restaurant messed up my Christmas meal.
Military/Police personnel who believe that their service (which I fully acknowledge provides significant benefit society at significant risk to those serving) makes them infallible or at least exempt from scrutiny or punishment for wrongdoing.
I don't think all cops are evil. I appreciate the service of the military. It's just that the honorable thing someone did doesn't negate misdeeds.
Wife's got the flu. Had bedroom furniture delivered this morning while she was at the dr. Plan for the day was getting said bedroom furniture set up since free time is rather limited. Ain't gonna happen. So now I'm just sitting here twiddling my thumbs going stir crazy. This has been a rather shitty month.
Dr apt was originally for her thumb, which was injured in the crash. Became a "why am I feeling like hammered dog meat?" appointment.

Hate to be the first to do this being the new year and all, but my dog's been in the cone for a week now with a cut paw, which hasn't healed and appears to be infected now despite waterproofing it with a bootie and tape 4x daily to keep it dry when walking out to do business, so we're headed back to the ER vet since the severities of these things only reveal themselves on holidays when all is closed, and I missed out on my ride earlier so I can now dump another couple hundred bucks to rub into the usual financial wounds of the holiday season to round out this whiny run-on sentence. I still count my blessings, though, and keep the family of Mr Palermo and those of you who were close to them in my thoughts. We also lost a local KC cycling character and friend to a tragic accident last weekend in his home. Joel Dyke was one of the most happy, humble and amazing human beings I've ever crossed paths with. He co-founded the DK200 and contributed to so much of the local cx and mtb scene. RIP BigGrin. Your energy remains here with those of you whom you've touched and inspired.
Solid week of the flu. Started Christmas day with my son. 36 hours later my wife succumbed. Daughter was the next to fall. And finally it got me. 2 straight days in bed and I am still not better. Wife is not better. Kids however are feeling fine, and are going completely stir crazy. How long can you lock a 5 and 3 year old out of the house before someone calls DFACS?

First day of unemployment. Friend/coworker died from stress two months ago, and I didn't want to follow suit. I have no job lined up (hard to find work as a Lisp programmer), but you know, I think I can breathe now. So I'm pretty f'ing happy. :)
AC Essential Bus fail. Return to gate. Deplane. I feel bad for the passengers, especially the 10-year old boy who routinely commutes between his warring mother and father on this flight. I've taken him a few times. Sucks when kids are caught in the middle of juvenile "adults". 10-year olds shouldn't be piling up frequent flyer miles.
Let's talk about bikes that do come on service, and the Rd hanger snaps when undoing the Rd. Then a new RD hanger comes, and while stretching the new gear wire, the cable-stop by the RD pops off this cheap carbon (?) frame. Top it up with the new Rd hanger that bends and cracks already when using the alignment tool.
WTF? Luckily the fella is a reasonable guy who understands has ridden the bike to the ground, and the rig isn't the best quality in the first place. Man, what a nightmare is to deal with cheap stuff

Became a single father of two girls on New Years day. It's possible I might move this to the Friday thread eventually though.
