Story: There has been a Hachi-Roku hatch parked daily at the local roach-motel for over a year. Today I decided enough was enough and marched in the front door and asked for the owner of the AE86 Corolla. The old man has owned it since 1986 (bought it with about 10k miles on it)!! It's white with the TRD red/orange/yellow strips. It's got 277k miles, the fenders are rusted out, it's been in several fender-benders (all body panels are original), and the motor is needing replaced/rebuilt (reason he's finally getting ready to sell it).

He said people ask him all the time if he wants to sell it, but he's finally ready to let it go. It's in pretty rough shape...but eff-me I want it!
Buy it. Replace the engine. Get your Initial D on.

Good luck finding a manual wagon. Just found out today my insurance company is going to total my 2002 Jetta wagon (manual w/ 74K on it) so I'm on the hunt for another manual wagon. The 4cyl wagons with an auto suck. My wife drives an '07 Passat 3.6 4Motion wagon- it's a tiptronic and honestly when I drive it I leave it in auto mode 90% of the time. It's a fun car but still not as engaging a manual. The '06 models had lots of problems but ours has been great (knock on wood.) Hauls our three kids and 60lb. dog no problem.

I did find an '06 Volvo V70 R for sale locally with 98K on it. They're a lot of fun but can be costly (my neighbor has owned three of them.) The '06 has the electronic suspension and struts for it are pricey.

Had my Jeep GC in for routine service and had to wait a couple mins as they drove it around. Wandered into the showroom and they had one of each of these sitting in there. Stupid, but fun.

Found out last Saturday I get to go to the Corvette training school this March. Corvettes on a Race track makes a nice birthday present. Being the Corvette specialist at the car store has some nice perks.

Yeah I know...sort of like Drivers Ed with a pro driver beside you. At least there aren't passenger brakes, and I'll get to drive 911's as well. Still fun and the Car store pays for it :-).

LOL I know I know. What I'm hinting at is to rent Panmara's, double down on the insurance and drive the bloody snoot out of them in the backroads of say Arizona or ??? Looks like real run for sure you'll have a blast.

This one's for the wagonophiles. Especially those inclined towards the high powered, AWD, manual transmission variety. (But don't get me started on what a piece of shit V70R we had.)

Thought I was in the minority when it came to Panamera's. Hopefully the same applies to the AMG shooting brake that still isn't coming stateside. A shooting brake Panamera and MB are though in '16 or '17.

I like the sense of urgency conveyed in the all-caps 'FASTEN BELTS' message at the bottom of the dash display....this car is going to try to mess you up.

    car story of the day.
    wife watches doughton abbey.
    she yells out to me...
come and check out this car!! its super cool...

i walk in to see the bugatti atlantic that i sat in one time.
black car owned by ralph lauren. one of 3 that exist.
a high school friend of mine who got into bikes found me and took me for a tour of the classic car resptration shop where he worked,
a garage full of gullwings, porsches and other amazing classic cars.
it was called "gullwing" in the day. i thk it called "mark russell " now.
    its in essex ma.
on the other hand, he wouldnt let me drive it so that part is missing from the story.

there was a fabulous exhibit some years ago at the boston museum of fine arts on classic autos...
    some fantastic stuff,
i wonder if davids went to it?

Have you ever seen a car more fitting for a person with a certain profession of supervising ladies of the night?
