Granola bars keep getting smaller. If I can eat you in two bites, I'm sorry, you're not a granola bar.

When I was a kid the stores carried Sunbelt brand granola bars. You knew you were eating something. I need to use the www's to track them down in wholesale quantities, if they still exist.

I get it, Pookie likes to roam and you're an obese, sedentary individual. You think your retractable leash is just the bee's knees, as it allows you to stand in place while your dog runs around a public sidewalk. Invariably, your poorly-socialized little terrier/maltese/puggle/whatever decides that it needs to charge over, come sniff my dog, jump at him, and generally piss him off. Now your 30 ft. cordura leash is wrapped around me, my dog, that tree, and maybe even you and your dog. At this point you're terrified that Pookie is going to run in to the street, so you've got a death grip on the handle while you now attempt to retract the leash, only making matters worse. Now it's MY job to figure out how to untangle this mess and keep anyone or anydog from becoming injured.

I've personally been clotheslined on the bike by someone who allowed their dog to stray across two lanes of traffic with one of these things, and on another occasion have while riding my bike run over a dog on a retractable leash that darted from a sidewalk, into the roadway, and across my path before I could react. Fortunately both dogs were OK.

These things should be banned by the CPSC.

Appreciate that. My grump is increasing as the day goes on. I'm not sure what's up today, but I feel like I've gone backwards. And now my other collarbone and shoulder is starting to ache from misaligned ligaments and over compensation. This whole body is interconnected stuff is crap.

My wife lost her phone last night.

Today I track it to an address, take some pictures of the person with the phone, send them a message and we get the phone back no problems.

"Why are you tracking my phone like that don't you trust me?"
    Insubordinate. And Churlish.

Holiday office parties. The angst created by trying to get twenty people to sit down together with a single menu is far out of proportion to the event.

We gave up doing Secret Santa with this group years ago...

I have a groin strain from moving a *&*%@&g TV, and it's been about a month and it's still not improving.

    Not really a grump, but....

I'm in DC at my brother's house and it's a splendid day. Perfect for the 46 mile trip to Mount Vernon and back.

No bike available. Seriously, gorgeous day. Anyone not able to ride here today ought to be grumpy.

There's a 3ft wide box of Russel Stover chocolates outside my cubicle and every single assorted morsel is tainted with @#&%ing dairy.

Office holiday parties. I’ve been to exactly one good office holiday party, and that was 15 years ago. At that party, I ended up going home with the cute girl and we’ve been together ever since; another guy woke up in someone’s front lawn with his wallet missing; someone else had to be peeled off the restaurant’s bathroom floor at closing time. That was a young dot com company and they knew how to throw a holiday party. Every year since, it’s been a pathetic show of game-faces trying to pretend they enjoy the company of their co-workers and two glasses of wine is a real splurge. Loosen up, office people.

This morning's commute was fresh snow over freezing rain and jackass in the minivan behind me thinks that one car length is plenty of room.

it was sunny and damn near 60 degrees this afternoon with no wind... and I can't carve out time away from my responsibilities to ride my bicycle. and I'm self employed with no bossman watching me.

Into my 3rd year of commuting. I ride rain, shine, snow or ice. I wish my (generally very nice) colleagues would:

    1. Stop telling me how dangerous it is every time it snows
    2. Offering me a ride home every time it snows

in the mountains, I am prepared for the ice and most of the motorized vehicles aren't. The tend to give me plenty of room, but they don't seem to realize I'm trying to give them enough room that they don't get stuck. Why would you drive into a snow-covered ditch to give a cyclist 15 feed of room?

That's not my grump, my grump is that my son drove my car to the ski area and it broke down on the way back. I drove it home, only thought I wasn't going to make it once, didn't even have enough power to get it off the road. Turned it off and back on and limped home. Just found out that the most likely cause had been covered by Toyota until the end of November. Great.

Sister boards international flight. Sister sits in the seat she paid for, per the seat designator on her boarding pass. Asshole boards plane, accosts sister. "That's my seat." No it isn't. Sister doesn't move. Asshole persists. "I paid $100 for that seat. Get out." Sister is intimidate by asshole, and is flying alone. Sister gets up. Sister notices asshole's boarding pass had her (sister's) name on it, says so. Asshole reminds sister that he has paid $100 for her seat, tells sister to fuck off. Flight attendant arrived, sees boarding pass situation, asks asshole to leave. Asshole loops back through the "I paid $100..." defense, refuses to move. Security arrives. Asshole is relieved both of that particular seat and the privilege of being on that flight at all.

In case it's not clear, my grump is everything up to the previous sentence, plus the fact that I was not there.

What in the fucks are wrong with people?

I've a recent divorce under my belt. Because of reasons, of which there are some, the Ex Wifey is in possession of (formerly) our Forrester XT. The loan on the XT is in my name only, to keep the vehicle She needs to essentially finance the amount of the current lien against it. Her, and the surprisingly incompetent Lawyer She hired, are demanding I sign a quit claim deed against the car. But She has not figured out how to buy me out of the loan. So they want me to give up legal claim to the physical vehicle, while still fiscally retaining full responsibility of the loan. The only hand I can play is FU, give me the car back in X amount of time or I report it stolen. But then I'm taking safe transportation for my Son away....And from my Son's new infant 1/2 brother (the "irreconcilable difference" but that's a different Grump)

Oh and She was just rear ended in afformentioned Forrester......

With new 1/2 brother in the car....

And it was a hit and run.....

And since I still own the loan, I still pay to insure the vehicle.....

I'm toeing the line. This close to entering a dark place I'm not coming back from.

I'm done with family. I'm tired of putting on a show for friends.

I'm beginning to see no reason.

I'll probably lose my home. I'll probably lose my dog.

I'm most definitely losing my mind.

Psychiatry will not solve this. Money will.

And I never had use for it before. Ain't that a bitch?
