You were a big part of my inspiration in the Bicycle Guide days, thank you for that. Got me started on my journey. =)

This would be how one learns a process and routine, as opposed to being shown one atmo.

This place was part of my own route and I would recommend it to those who want to make frames. Then I chose fibres and polymers over crystals.

Here's a different take on downsizing. The minimum for me:

Re: downsize the fantasy atmo -
This forum offers so much in the way of knowledge and inspiration that I wish was available when I built my first of 3 frames. I had a bunch of experience as a bike shop mechanic and decent fabrication skills from internships in product design model shops / helping in the shop at school. What I really had at the time was a ton of enthusiasm and a desire to build. Luckily I had a very talented framebuilder help me out with the first 2 frames. You should have seen the smile on his face when I showed up with a box of mitered tubes and a wooden "jig" I fabricated to hold my creation together! He said we'd probably light it on fire (we charred it to say the least!), he let me work with it, and then he showed me the right way while I spent a lot of time filing brass. My advice: don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, pay attention to those who teach and learn from your mistakes!

just when you think its safe
Structural aluminum and steel pieces for machining
justabout a frame jig kit . sheesh

Re: downsize the fantasy atmo -
Are you saying someone could build a jig from those contents?
This I gotta see

Re: downsize the fantasy atmo -
A)You can pass the driving test in a couple of lessons with a full equiped car with Stability control, traction control, ABS, power steering, big engine, etc
B)You can LEARN to drive with much more number of lessons (and mistakes) with a basic car without any assisted systems, so to visualize and experiment on your own what are the consecuences of each mistake (unlike the option A where the mistake will not actually happen).
And best of all, option B will be so much cheap that with the money you save on the "tool", you can expend all of it in incredibly useful things as petro/tyres so to keep driving while the option A is stocked trying to find funds to keep the thing rolling.
I've never used a better hole saw than my beloved files.
Cheers
