I had a Mark IV well before I moved into a city, and for my 40th last year I bought myself a mini-rectifier
I love how versatile it is, and how easy it is to get whatever tones you want regardless of volume.
I don't play, but a friend does and he just loves his little Two-Rock amp. Made locally and sounds good when we hang out in the man cave.
Did you order something? Wondering if a Pro Junior would do the trick.
I just sold my Tiny Terror and picked up a Deluxe Reverb Reissue. The Orange was cool as hell and did Melvins and Sleep stuff well, but its cleans were pretty flat and uninspiring.
Those little Vox AC4TV's look cool (and cheap).
No,
I'm gonna hold out for tax returns.
I'm also considering re-building the cab for the Twin and dropping a Marshall powerbrake or similar attenuator into the back of the cab.

Fender Blues Junior, a few cheap mods, and a few good pedals. I've owned a lot of uber expensive gear, and honestly for low volume, that's the bees knees. IMO, low volume is never going to sound as good as high volume, mostly because of the dynamics of overdriving the speaker also has a lot to do with it, the apartment game is simply about the best possible given the situation, not the best possible.
I know these dudes. They're good shits. And Tommy done built Clapton's guitars back in the day. Just got an email that they're giving away cigar box guitars and Amps.

I don't do live anymore so for around the house I have a little Vox night train...Rick's sound amazing thru Vox stuff...if still playing out I would certainly get a Vox A30...but check out the night train...great little tube amp for the money...
Anyone played around with a Matamp Minimat? I recently sold my Traynor YBA-1 since I no longer need something that big and want a small tube amp for home. Considering an AC15 but I have a Greenback I'd like to built a 1x12 cab for.
I snagged a Marshall Class 5 today. Holy shit. The tone section isn't that sensitive, although you'll probably drop the bass down because it can get muddy if the bass is much over 3 or 4 -- and that's on a '52 American Vintage series Telecaster. The volume and tonality of the amp are incredibly dynamic and sensitive to pick attack and the guitar's volume control. It totally captures the tone and response of a Plexi -- I had a 50 watt head a long time ago, and this thing has the same character. It's just so freaking sensitive and the tone is unbelievable. Cleans are really nice, Bassman-like, and then it gets the whole ballsy Plexi thing once the volume gets turned up around 5. Really fun.
If I was still in a band I'd have a boner for a Bluesbreaker combo, but for basement playing, this thing kicks so much ass.
All kinds of low watt tube amps.
Your choice of good tube amps and guitars is right up there with your choice of good handmade bikes nowadays. The hard part is picking one.
Carr Mercury. Expensive as hell and worth every penny. The wattage selection (1/10, 1/2, 2, 8) is nothing short of revelatory.
741's feeding into 741's feeding into 741's produce a great sound. and quite versatile.
I'm disappointed. not very much though.
here's a free diagram for you which works well.
