Default Background audio for weekend puttering

One of my favorite weekend activities is puttering about in the home shop while listening to podcasts or videos. Today I’ll be joined by the late Alain de Cadenet, telling the Maserati story with lots of delightful car sounds. What do you listen to in your puttering time?

To get shit done I put on all the LCD Soundsystem albums on shuffle and turn it up to near harmful levels.
    Lately.

^^^ Yes! And Aphex Twin, lately, for me. Brian Chapman's build reels on IG are affecting my music choices.

I just got some bigger speakers and an obscenely powerful subwoofer to help with this. Clash (London Calling and Sandinista!), Concrete Blonde, and Rage Against The Machine as required.

Those are cathartic but not always conducive to doing quality work. Then it’s Radiohead. K.D. Lang if I need to calm the fuck down. Later Warren Zevon (and the tribute stuff) if I need to be reminded that we only get so much time to do the stuff we need to do.

There’s definitely a background noise for hammering activities and a different noise for wrenching or detail activities. I change the noise when I change my level of attention to detail.

It changes so much depending on the mood.

It can go from mexican cumbia and banda, idm, 70's rock, french electro dub, ambient, lybian reggae, french hip hop or gypsie music.

Some examples of stuff I've listened recently while building a bike, fixing old analog cameras and renovating my kitchen:

I hope it gives you some ideas.

    Excellent list !

That being said, have you listened to the new Bad Bunny?
