DJ vs Slack HT for first build
Hey all, I have been working on some practice tubing with fillet brazing and starting to decide on which bike I want to build first. I am aware that first frames are not going to be a master piece and planning on buying a Nova brand tubeset for this first frame.
The question is, which type of bike should I build first. For just general MTB, I am desiring a dirt jumper and a slack hardtail (like the Kona Honzo or Nukeproof Scout). So I am going to copy the geometry of one of them and give it a stab. Once I finish the first frame, i will either scrap it or build the next one. What are your opinions on the frame for a first timer?
Thanks in advance!

Hands down: Mountain Bike. You can ride that to the pump track/DJ park or the trailhead. You'll also have a few more problems to solve since you're dealing with a drivetrain, chain line, etc.
Good luck!
