    Default Rapha Core

I'm digging Rapha's core. Bright color options at a price I can stomach.

Since you hid this Rapha thread I'll give it 7 pages before di sea tea hits the lock.

OK, seriously then. It looks to be a step below classic in fabrics and fit. Not by much but enough to point at an affordable option. Anyone already swimming in a classic jersey need not apply.

I would be interested to know how it compares to the other lines?

just from that photo, it looks like the materials are stretched/folded to meet the zipper at the bottom while the other models on their page don't do that.

Here's the story of Core - including a brief interview with our Head of Design.

The fit is similar to our Classic products, but the raglan-sleeve construction and nature of both jersey and bib materials allow many customers to size-down for a 'Pro Team'-type fit.
Obviously there are critical limits to this, such as your height and/or the girth of your neck. It's an impressive kit though, and stands up to very close scrutiny.
We have the full Core range in stock at our brand-spanking-new CCNYC location in SoHo, which opened yesterday. Feel free to drop by for a try-on.

    Reviews are rolling in.

Lesson: If you insist on hiring brand evangelists you have to expect every clear minded person to attempt poking holes in your theology. That and your largest financial contributors feeling blasphemed by a devotion of resources towards unworthy heathens.

    Raglan...haha, I love that word.

q36.5's entry level, no proprietary fabric, R1 jersey has raglan sleeve construction and that allows the price to remain a reasonable $180. It's a decent, no-frills jersey:

Thought I was looking at a Search and State promo from a year or two back. Quite the lineup in that first photo.

Glad the condescendi are meh about the core-porate friendly line. Waiting to see a picture of some rail thin lanky pro looking relaxed in it (as opposed to a collection of sharp angles) before I consider ordering.

I don't go to Soho much but when I do, I'll likely pick up a jersey to try out. If they've done a good job on this line, I'd like to encourage more reasonableness.

Just ordered myself a kit. The stars of needing a new kit, tax return coming in, and the Core stuff being 'reasonable' aligned in just the right fashion.

    Get it? Fashion?

Got some miles in this now, I'm into it. Bibs have that familiar feel, and the strap placement is spot-on imo.

Any updates on the Core, especially the Jersey? Some comments elsewhere suggest it is not well finished and does not fit like any other Rapha jersey. I am thinking about the Core, maybe the Special Edition Classic II or the Super Lightweight.

I've got one medium-long ride (~100k) in the kit and I'm super pleased with it. The jersey fits me much better than my oversized (and now 5 year old) lightweight jersey. Shorts with the Classic chamois are comfy. Hard to find anything negative to say, really. When stuff kind of disappears from beneath you, you know its good. That said, I need to get more miles in before I can give a proper review.

Thanks for the comments. I think I will try one, seems like it should work until the dead of summer when temps go into the mid-high 90's.

I got one of the new versions of the Classic jersey (the Classic II) instead of the Core jersey. I like the old classic, but I can understand why they redid it. I felt like the old Classic's fabric made it a nice transitional season jersey (why I liked it actually,) but it was too thick for summer. The newer version has a similarly constructed fabric, but it is thinner and I expect will make it fine for all but the hottest days in summer. It isn't snug, but then it isn't supposed to be. And there are definitely days when I'd rather not be compressed, so that fit is still a handy option to have in the jersey drawer, imho.
