Default Frame Jig Contact Point Material

What is the most important factor in choosing a material for the frame jig contact points (ie: cones for headset, etc)? I am putting together a jig and want to buy some stock to machine to spec and got to thinking. Stainless for its durability? Aluminum as a heatsink?

    Stainless

Hard, does not deform easily, will hold your machined spec.
