I am also getting excited about this weekends volunteer activities at Wolftrap National Park for the Performing Arts. I scan tickets at the front gate until the show starts and then I watch the show.
This weekend's lineup:
Tonight: Kenny Rodgers
Tomorrow: Harry Conick Jr.
Sunday: Ray LaMontange

Mom & Dad toasted her. She toasted us. I'm pretty proud of us too!

I've got more time right now but I'm on call a lot now and have to be relatively close to home in order to answer a possible call for a short-notice trip. So my loops generally have me no more than 45 minutes from home if I split right back to the apartment. Tops.
I'm sure riding will change for you but you should still be able to get out regularly, even if some rides are shorter, but more frequent. Once or twice a week I'm doing two rides per day, morning and evening.
Congrats on the family addition!

If you attended my high school in the mid 90's, chances there would have been pretty good.

Combined grump and Friday grump suck it.
A bat got in my house when I let the dogs in... I googled how to get rid of a bat, all useless info. So after an hour of trying to get it out by opening all of the windows and doors and enraging it by swinging a broom at it failed I called animal control. Since I live in the middle of nowhere and it was 11:30 at night my local police showed up.
I apologized and said don't worry, but he insisted on helping. A ridiculous sight is watching three grown adults run out of door screaming when a tiny bat flies at them. Especially when one is wearing a bullet proof vest. This amazing guy spent 2 hours with us getting the bat out. He eventually got fed up and said "I have no choice... " He went in armed with a towel and a spray bottle. He enraged it with a squirt of water hit it with a towel and knocked it out. There was a lot of wild towel swinging with his other hand covering his head. He said "Not joking, this was more nerve wracking than any arrest I have done."
Such a great guy, he didn't have to do this it is not his job. But he did and that is awesome. Plus we all had fun.

A bullet proof vest isn't going to save him from a bat!! I'm terrified of bats. In Brazil, there are fruit bats that come out at night (gets dark at like 5:30 PM) - so you'll be sitting outside by a pool or a small forest of trees and you'll see them dive against the water over and over again. The locals claim they won't bike mammals, but I'm skeptical.

I was at my folks' place last summer and the only one home when a bat got in the house, probably while I sat out back with the dog. I managed to chase it out with a broom and towel in about fifteen minutes but it was nerve wracking.
And it's crazy how silent they are versus how loud a birds wings will beat when they get trapped inside a structure.

Mother inlaw once reverse Winchestered a bat with the central vac extension. FIL preferred his Ektelon.
Bats swooping overhead while out on my summer evening patio means no skeeters. Rank right up there with turtles, imo.

I loved watching the bats feed on bugs over the lakeside beach in the middle of Maine. Acrobatic diners yo.
Of course I never shared a bedroom with one.

Me too. We'd stay up at night and watch them do attack runs over the pool.
Bats used to get into the house regularly. Freaked us out the first time. After then, we'd isolate the bat in one room then open a window and take out the screen. Bat figured it out in an hour or two.

Lithotripsy was a success without much drama. While in recovery, my pulse tanked to 32bpm and BP dropped, but that only lasted a brief moment. Other than that, all is well, and I'm peeing beach sand.
