Further, the will of the people was executed - Count how many people are represented by those who voted for impeachment in both houses and compare that to those who voted against. Hint - the majority of US citizens (and voters) voted those who supported impeachment into power. We can debate whether the midterm elections were explicitly a rebuke of Trump's actions or simply the usual pattern of the incumbents faring poorly. However, the numbers are not debatable.

My wording could have been more precise since the Senate is tasked with representing everyone even if they do shirk that responsibility. I was simply noting that when you say you want congress to do the will of the people, you mean you want congress to do what you want. They wouldn't let Gravel participate even when he did qualify, and wouldn't bend for any of the candidates of color. But money opened the door because they want to get Bernie out. Obama said flat-out that if it looked like Bernie were going to win, he'd step in and "do something". So don't tell me about pizza gate.
In NO case was any 'error' in Bernie's favor. This is bullshit top to bottom. As far as "conspiracy", you make it sound like the only kind of conspiracy is a James Bond like operation. This was a conspiracy, just not well done. I'm just glad Bernie's people kept records of the local totals.
Not it is not that simple. The United States is a Constitutional Democracy, not a direct democracy. Representatives are elected by the people and the Senate has more Republicans than Democrats because of how people voted.Quote:

The Senate did the will of the people who voted them in. It doesn't matter what the grand total of voters did, it matters how the voters in individual states voted. I'm in the throes of my Master's in American History, what you suggest (will of the majority) is what was avoided in the forming of the US government. Each state had their say.Quote:
