Default Does time of day matter to Recovery?

I'm rolling towards doing an endurance MTB event later this year. To beat the heat we've had in Fl and to get used to riding at night my bro and I did a ride Friday night and into Saturday morning. It was suggested to me that it takes longer to recover from off peak hours training and adapting my body in that way is good. I just figured good sleep and nutrition was important and never considered that riding when the body is usually shut down could be physiologically different. Can any of you endurance folks debunk or add insight into any of this?

Probably not Jon as long as you can sleep normal hrs.
Suggest a whey protein shake with skim milk before sleep.
