Default How to fix windshield leak?

Our 2011 Volvo V50 had some water pooling in the passenger footwell and moisture on the inside of the windshield. We thought it might be due to clogged sunroof drain lines, so our local mechanic cleared them out with compressed air. Water is now flowing properly that way. But we're still seeing moisture on the inside of the glass. My wife noticed that the weather stripping on the edge of the windshield has peeled away at the corners:

Is silicon sealer the right stuff fill in these gaps?

I’d call your local windshield replacement shop and let them take a look.

As a quick experiment, last night I put some electrical tape over the gaps in the two corners where the gasket has receded. No condensation inside the car this morning.
