    Default Steering wheel cover?

So … pandemic-level hand cleaners and sanitary wipes were not good for the surface of the steering wheel in my wife’s CX-9. I want to find a cover to keep the finish from deteriorating further, but I dread a big fat steering wheel cover, and I shudder at the thought of the fuzzy covers used by people who should be on the bus. Is anyone using a low-profile steering wheel cover they’d recommend?

I had a crappy VW Golf about 10 years ago that had a really worn steering wheel. Wrapped it in nice bar tape which kept it going a little longer. Sorry, not sure I'd recommend it particularly though...
It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage.

I put one of those nice leather stitch it on things on my F-250 when new. Took awhile to install however the feel is much better than stock. I'm sure theyre available for Mazdas.

I had something like that on my car...~40 years ago! I almost certainly bought it from the J.C.Whitney catalog.
Didn't realize leather steering wheel covers were still a thing, I honestly thought they'd gone by the wayside after the American Muscle Car fad waned.

...okay, I guess the American Muscle Car fad hasn't really waned...

Haha - I was going to suggest the same thing. Don't forget the twine wrap on the tops and the champagne cork bar-ends!

This had occurred to me but a variant that feels like a woven basket handle would be more interesting to my wife. And probably terrible for driving …
