The Alec Guinness version of Tinker Tailor and Smiley's People is on YouTube. I think this is a BBC production that appeared on PBS Masterpiece Theater from back when Masterpiece Theater was not repetitive trash for American audiences.

I am reading The Editor's Burial which is a collected volume of writers whose work inspired Wes Anderson's movie, The French Dispatch. I have now read Mavis Gallant's "The Events in May" (her notes on the student riots in Paris in 1968) and am reading it again. It is like trying to figure out how a fine gold wristwatch works without opening the case. Lovely to look at, so much going on inside.
