    Default Films of 2022

I did a little binge viewing of some films offered on the New Yorker website today.
    It was a worthy experience.
Five shorts, 30ish minutes max, 7ish min.
Give it a shot if you are able.

Everything Everywhere all at once - Brilliant, disturbing, charming maybe not in that order. I'm so used to predictable plot lines that my mind tends to focus less on the story and more on things like continuity. Jaded is a word ;) This film changed my viewing expectations so no spoilers just give it a shot.

I saw 3 of the Oscar nominated movies (which is a lot for me)

My wife and I saw EEAAO when it was in the theatres - she loved it. It was just way to weird for me and I was staring at my watch the whole time ready for it to be done.

Tar: I've now watched it twice - and I think I could watch it again easily, I'm fascinated by it. My wife hated it.

Top Gun Maverick: Most fun I've had at a movie in a long time. Hell no it's not perfect, but with all the expectations that movie had on it - I think they did a pretty incredible job on it. My son is 13 and we saw it 3x? in the theatre and we've watched it a couple times at home now as well.

I’ve started Everything… a couple times so far and haven’t finished it. It’s pretty jarring and I need to make time for it.

The new Top Gun is super fun.

I watched The Departed again this weekend. Damn, what a film. Planning to watch Gangs of NY again soon.

I still prefer her Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Chow Yun-Fat and Michelle Yeoh were such a great team

Everything Everywhere All at Once works like my brain does, so it was like a homecoming for me in one of my many parallel universes. Loved that film and everything about it. I've watched it 3 times and picked up something new each time.

I scanned through some of the arrays of "Best dressed..." from the Oscars and the only name I recognized was Florence Pugh who was great in Black Widow, a movie that was not so great except for Pugh.
