Unfortunately the folks in the cities and suburbs also have plenty of guns, and they too use them.

Backhoes might not be as common, but available if need be.

Brodozers, well, it's probably a toss-up if there are more "in the country" or "in the city."

They get kudos for spelling "backhoes" correctly at least.

Graduate art school student country folk. Meta-textual buy-in on the same archetypes/stereotypes they reject. Can't fight the man if you are the man man. Look how nicely the letters are made. Like they got it as a font or something called Angry Country People.

Or they bought it on Etsy.

Right? I like the proper use of "you are" instead of "your". This area has ranches; big houses and lots of cattle on their own and BLM land. I'm sure they have some decent education.

If I had enough property, I'd also have a backhoe, and just drive around digging holes.

After spending 10yrs doing process piping design for chemical plants, and being of the age where I watched 9/11 live on TV in the 11th grade, I've often worried about an attack at a chemical plant. These plants have big quantities of bad bad really bad stuff (I've worked in plants that produce ammonium nitrate for example) and the only security is usually a senior citizen in a guard shack and a tall chain link fence around the plant. And these plants are dotted all over the country.

My boss from my first post-Navy engineering job bought a medium-sized bulldozer for his retirement. He has 20 acres outside of town and enjoys moving dirt around with no real purpose in mind.

I rented a backhoe last summer to install our septic system in Wyoming. We ended up digging all kinds of holes. It really came in handy for digging post holes for our gate. The ground was so packed that an auger wouldn't punch through. We could go about two feet down with the backhoe and finish up with a post-hole digger.

I worked for 5 years in a coke plant and ammonium sulfate was one of the by-products that we produced from baking coal, and other nasties included benzene, naphtha, tar, toluene and xylene. The coke oven gas collection tanks were massive and as coke oven gas is both toxic and highly flammable, it wouldn't take much to have one of these plants (many located on waterways) become a catastrophe. Our guards were ex-military and weren't shy about brandishing a firearm or a hickory stick when needed with a rowdy steelworker, often hiding from their ex-wife's attorney, who would show up at the plant gate to serve a child support subpoena between shift changes. That was always a good show in itself...thank goodness cell phones weren't around then.

I'd just like to clarify that I am pro-backhoe. Nothing against them. And if elected...
