It's been about a year. Apologies

This is a self-important post, but I feel I need to write it.

I have been crass, insulting, and antagonistic in the past. I apologize to you all. I do love boutique bikes, and probably always will.

I was out of line; I was totally wrong too many times when things got into politics.

Viewing the posts from the past year, we are all much more aligned that I would have thought. The world is in a strange place right now and moderate people are called fascists or communists by both sides every day. I took offense for being being called the former, but I shouldn't have.

In short, I'm sorry for insulting people and I hope to hear more about nice Ti bike welds and how Campy SR11 was the best gruppo ever (I will fight on that one, lol). I'll be staying out of politics and related posts.

I gotta admit, regardless of what folks' personal values are, what candidate(s) they voted for, which "side" [sic] they more closely align with, etc. the political discourse in VSalon's OT threads always struck me as being infinitely more substantive, detailed, thought-out, and elucidating than 99.9% of the banter that shows up elsewhere on social media. I may not agree with things you (the collective you/us/we, not calling out Sino per se) wrote, but I appreciate the fact that you/us/we went to the trouble of trying to express a cogent thought...and usually succeeded.

How long did you get banned?

I know Stefan Rohner had friction with the mods but he wasn't the least political or I don't think so anyway. Miss his contribution.

Have to say the mods and salonistas here are a cut above. Not only do our bikes look better, we actually ride, and we're adults able to type butt fuck if we want and talk about controversial topics without threads going off the rails. I, for one, think there's a direct correlation between 20mm or less headset spacers and adulting.

Shout out to the mods. Sino drop down and give Josh 10 as a welcome back. I know he'll appreciate it as he sips his slightly bitter Monday morning hot stuff.

How long did you get banned?

I really don't remember how long the ban was. I kind of just remembered, "oh yeah, I liked the bike posts on Velocipede," and returned to see I wasn't banned anymore. I think it was about a year, but I don't know for sure.
