Default I need some toe socks...

To deal with what appears be a nerve compression issue in my feet, my podiatrist has recommended that I try toe socks. It seems like the leading brand for those is Injinji, but they are waaay expensive (at least compared to what I usually pay for my daily-wear socks) and if I'm going to be wearing them every day I'm going to need a whole bunch.

Does anyone here use toe socks, and if so, are there any other brands out there worth considering? Amazon has several options, but it's tough to tell how good they are.

    Thanks.

I like toe socks a lot. Unfortunately my big-ass toes barely fit in any shoes and the extra material makes it worse. I just took a look to see what I have and they are Injinji. I think I have another brand too but couldn't find them. My only advice is to get a couple pairs and see if you even like them. Injinji do make socks with different materials so make sure you get the thickness you want.

Oh, and Injinji is a little tough on dyslexia. I thought it was Injinni (like genie in a bottle) until I had to type it. I checked your post for the spelling and thought you spelled it wrong. Nope, I just can't make sense of those letters.

I had a pair of Injinji and they held up for a long time. I felt like I got my money's worth.

I'm guessing you need all 5 toes, so these won't do: https://www.sim.works/collections/types?q=socks

IF anyone finds these in wool (tabi socks, in particular) link them here. I've been looking and just cannot find a reliable vendor!

Not sure if this is applicable, my wife has Morton’s Neuroma and Podiatrist had her get these. She says it’s night and day and as a bonus you don’t need new socks.

She got them at a sports store specializing in running.

My wife and daughters swear by feetures socks. I do not know what your exact issue is, but if you have heel /arch issues, worth a try.
    I prefer x-socks.

    These look interesting too

I was looking at sandals and noticed that some of the companies who make sandals sell tabi socks.

Earthrunners sells some. They actually look pretty nice.

    Another sandal company, Luna Sandals.

    Bedrock Sandals also.

several years ago I used five finger shoes and injinji toe socks to train myself out of being a heel striker. It worked--huge difference in my running, no more shin splints, qualified for Boston, etc.
I used merino wool versions from injinji, and they wore well, very long life from me.

I now run in Altra shoes using regular merino wool socks from various vendors, but would rec. you consider wool injinji (however, never dry them in the dryer).

The official word is that Luna is restocking in two weeks, so be on the lookout (after I've made my order ;) )

    Thanks, John!

Mike, thanks for this suggestion. Next week, when they're back in the office, I think I'll call my podiatrist and see if they think these will help.

My online research tells me that your wife got the "Correct Toes" brand of spacers - is that right?

That’s the one. I thought a bit pricey but what do I know. She thinks my bike stuff is a bit pricey!
