    Default Hand Made Brushes

In my childhood when I came home from school, my father (Masumi Hata, the Second Master) always asked me to help him in his brush making, plus do all my farm chores. That’s how I learned the brush-making processes and techniques. I went onto senior high school after graduating from junior high school, whereupon I started, in earnest, to train myself in the brush making process.

Thanks e-RICHIE for the post. I took a class a long time ago from one of the forgers from the real life Great Escape camp. He was pretty amazing and i can't even start to explain how much talent and work it is to make brush lines like that. I tip my hat to the folks who have the talent. It is a skill set that I will never even dream of having. Great find and watch.

I am amazed at the process. Also how little of the hair used actually makes it to the end. His patience is something to aspire to.

I am curious also as to how long the life expectancy of a brush is under normal use.
