Default I bought my first concert tickets of 2021.

    Yes, dammit!

Los Lobos and Alejandro Escovedo at the Egg September 26.

Had to call them up, it's been so damn long their web site apparently forgot how to do credit card transactions and would spin and spin and spin... I didn't get exactly the seats I want but second row pit with only one chair in front of the two of ours will work.

    Yee freaking ha!

    Both of those sound great!

My first scheduled show is the re-scheduling of last August's Sleater-Kinney/Wilco show. Now booked for 8/24. Feeling optimistic that it'll happen.

My kids and I saw Los Lobos in L.A. at an anti War rally. Pretty awesome sound for the venue. I sprung for tickets for a festival a couple years ago but got bored before the headliner and asked my wife if she didn't mind going home early. She was relieved. While I'm barely hangin on in the neutral zone, I hope you guys get your lives back this year.

I am hoping Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow and Mass MoCA manage to have a season. I am not holding my breath. You couldn't get me to go to the Garden or similar indoor venue.

I last saw Los Lobos in NYC around 1983 courtesy of a friend who was smitten.

My favorite rock n roll dad joke:

What does Los Lobos mean in Spanish?

    Five Fat Mexicans.

    Wocka, wocka.

It might be funnier if you grew up in East LA and your parents were born in Guanajuato, Mexico (yes and yes).

    Love Los Lobos.
Introduced to their music by an 17ish kid on a French Alps ride when I was 50.
I crashed on a descent and rode in the support van with the teen for a couple days.
He was a glee class singer and a big fan of LL.
I thank him to this day for the introduction to their music.
They have played in my small city a couple times since I arrived 20ish yrs back.
    They killed it both times.

Last year, while riding around the World Famous Rose Bowl, I spotted Evan Dando wearing a Replacements t-shirt, walking laps while strumming an acoustic guitar. I was a bit disappointed that he lives in LA. Nineties heartthrobs are so weird.

Every few years, I do the Kiko deep dive. Convinced that Mitchel Froom and Tchad Blake's work on that album is the lost influence on Radiohead's Ok Computer/Kid A phase. Eno and Los Lobos, yep.

Indigo Girls this coming Sunday, outdoors at a nearby county park…pretty stoked as their 1,200 Curfews LP never leaves the CD changer…I know...what is that? They cover Dylan’s Tangled Up In Blue better than Bob…imho of course.

Carolyn Wonderland. It was that good. If she's in your town get tickets. You won't be sorry.

Caffe Lena's always a great place to see a show, they fit 110 people packed in on the tables there. It's a small room.

Great cover and imho most covers of Dylan are better. But that’s just me.

Huge Los Lobos fan here. Maybe one of the last shows I saw pre-pandemic. We have tickets for the Railbird Festival in August https://www.railbirdfest.com/ and the second weekend of Jazzfest in NOLA in September.

The Jayhawks played an awesome outdoor concert last evening at our local county park. Pretty good shows this year…Indigo Girls, the Average White Band, the Spin Doctors and the Jayhawks to name a few, all mixed with local bands.

We signed up for a season package with our local orchestra yesterday. Nixed the Joshua Bell show for a Cloud Cult collaboration.

We went to hear Harry Connick at Interlochen earlier this week. Out door, but roofed (Kresge Auditorium).

Being aware of the Spanish Concert study, we wore masks. We’re vaccinated, too.

Saw Cracker on Friday night. Always a good show; Johnny Hickman is the real deal and Lowery is great of course. Hopefully lots more to come this fall starting with Bob Mould in September.
