Unfortunately I also just found out that the son of our friends in Prague came up positive after a play date with his friend at his friend's dad's house. His friend's parents are getting a divorce, and his friend's dad felt ill so got a test and found out he was positive and did not tell his soon-to-be-ex-wife. So both boys were exposed during the play date, and then the wife was exposed to the two boys, and then our friends were exposed when their son came home and tested positive at school. So everyone at school is now exposed.

Also same friends - his parents live in Boulder CO near the area of the shooting and no one has been able to get either of them on the phone. So things are kind of nuts for them right now.

Yes, I was very much kidding about the bot thing because I work in tech and wouldn't have the first clue about how to do that. Yes, to the women. Karen got her mom an appointment, her mom got an earlier one, Karen got me my appointment and I got her one but then she got herself an earlier one. I'm just a passenger on this bus.

One down, one to go. Onondaga County has done a great job throughout the pandemic. Arrived 11:40, vaccination at 11:50 (my scheduled time), drove away at 12:05 after my 15 minute wait for any reaction (none so far).

Now up to April 4th, Easter Sunday. Perhaps for that reason SUNY Oneonta had 200 appointments available that day.

After some problems with blank screens earlier today, things have been operating fairly smoothly. We’ve each made and cancelled 4 different appointments, ending up with the current one on April 4. Each time our cancelled appointment has shown up as available instantly. So as soon as we signed up for a new appointment and received confirmation, we cancelled our previous appointment to make it available for others. The early issues we experienced were probably due to the numbers of people accessing the site.

I have learned so much about the vaccine roll out in Los Angeles. I am furious.
My friends 70 year old diabetic mother can't get into an appointment but I can . . . because I have anxiety. WHAT?
Dodgers stadium is closing early because people aren't showing up for their appointments.

It took us 2-3 hours to figure out how to navigate the system. How TF does LA expect our immigrant/migrant/aging population to figure this shit out?

As a swiss humorist said yesterday, America going back to the routine of a mass shooting every week is a sign that vaccination is effective and will allow us to get back to our previous normal life.

Second shot yesterday and from the looks of things the people working there are still feeling the joy. I got the impression from talking to the people at the table when they administered the dose that they're working their regular jobs at the facilities where at first they were overwhelmed and now are merely under siege and then coming in there to work a shift. Their mood could best be described as buoyant. It was a great day.

Had the Pfizer first shot. Later in the day had reactions: miniature covid symptoms. I know because i had covid. It only lasted one day. Still a migraine lingering but i am happy. Waiting the second shot now.

My friend had reactions from the first covid shot, He also had a previous infection. Normally they say reactions typically only occur with the 2nd vaccine . Wonderig if a previous infection changes the calculation. Would make some sense as the immune system is already primed. -Mike G

Only issue I'm having with the 2nd shot is that it is 70 degrees out about 25 degrees above normal for March and I am too sleepy to go for a bike ride.

I have no problem with that, though.

Yes. Discussed briefly toward the beginning of this podcast. (Entire podcast is worth a listen, IMO).

I got my first shot on Wed. I went to one of the federal mass vaccination sites. It was a smooth operation. Event he appointment was easy to book. I was in and out in 30 minutes (including the 15 minute wait). I couldn't believe how happy everyone was.

early Thursday morning I had some shoulder pain and in the afternoon I felt a bit too lethargic to workout. I feel better today.

Just checked the NYS vaccine site and now my wife and I are going to Oneonta on Sunday for our vaccine.

So we started with May 19. Now we are March 28.

2 hour drive in the country. To be repeated.

If you’re heading to Oneonta, take advantage of the circumstances and head to Brooks’.
